So I’m a little late to the posting-of-our-engagement-session party, but hey, better very late than never, right?
We’ve been married almost 3 months now, and I still can’t get over how much I love these photos. Austin and I decided to have the shoot done on the University of Washington campus; it is such a beautiful campus. It has great architecture, open spaces, and an endless amount of greenery. I found this cute, white Kate Spade dress and amazing, long Alexander Wang dress and I knew they’d be PERFECT for this shoot. I wanted classy, formal, and timeless; and that’s what I got!
I also haven’t given you guys our engagement story. Earlier this year, Austin was set to fly to California for a weekend work trip, and we decided I would stay home. Shortly thereafter, I quit my job at the time, and wasn’t set to start my new job for about 2 weeks. Just days before Austin’s trip, he texted me asking if I’d like to go with him, and of course I said absolutely!
His training was being held in Half Moon Bay; a little town on the coast, just south of San Francisco. Austin and I enjoy getting dressed up and going to beautiful restaurants, so we made plans to go out to dinner that night and let me tell you, this guy took me to The Ritz Carlton just up the street from our hotel, overlooking the ocean. We ate at Navio, one of their amazing on-site restaurants. Shortly into dinner, the sun started going down, and Austin and I had wanted to get a photo of us by the water before losing the light. As we walked outside, we followed the walkway around the back of the hotel, and as I’m watching the water, I turn around see him get down on one knee and propose! If you haven’t guessed by now, I did say yes. We even got a few cheers from a party on the restaurant balcony.
It’s a simple story, but that’s exactly how I wanted it; me and him. I don’t have any official photos from the moment, because I also wanted it to be private and just ours. These photos will have to suffice, enjoy!
