Kimono, Kimono, Kimono

Every time I hear the word "Kimono" I think of the father from My Big Fat Greek Wedding when he says "Kimono, kimono, kimono. Ha! Of course! Kimono is come from the Greek word himona, is mean winter. So, what do you wear in the wintertime to stay warm? A robe. You see: robe, kimono. There you go!"
I thought I'd give this trend a try when I saw this beautiful piece sitting in Forever 21; I love that I can still find the occasional great item there! This would probably be worn over the rest of an outfit, but I think it looks better as a dress because it defines a waist. Large billowy items overwhelm my frame so defining a waist is key!
I layered two gold necklaces to amp up the layers and kept the rest simple. The pattern speaks for itself!
What's your favorite way to wear a kimono?
